Hey there, we just got back from RP and I found the ATM wouldn't give me any cash there. Cash is best, they all accept american money. Credit cards in the better restaurants. Might be a pain to carry that much cash but, you'll find it better in the long run. Have fun!
I carry cash for stuff like groceries, partying, etc., but credit cards are widely accepted and will do an automatic exchange rate, so I tend to use them in restaurants and basically whenever else I can.
Ok, I'm sorry if this is answered anywhere on your site, but I've found conflicting answers to my question: What is the best way to pay for things? Including Hotel, Food, Gifts, etc. I'm going to have to carry about 2000$ in cash if Cash is always the way to go. If CC is better for certain things, all things, or whatever, please let me know! Thanks.
