Where to find liquor stores in Rocky Point (Mexico)
REMEMBER July 3rd is a no LIQUOR day in Rocky Point. They DO NOT sell alcohol....
These days it seems that many people go down to Rocky Point to "DRINK" and get away. So, where do you guy the alcohol? Do you bring it from home? Can you get Bud Light, Coors Light and the regular domestics? How about mixed drinks at the bars????? How much can I bring into Mexico???
Unfortunately, we don't have all the answers but our goal is to eventually provide our visitors with as much information as possible. Please visit out CUSTOMS page or Border Crossing page for allowable items and quantities into Mexico.
If you are going down to Rocky Point, don't bring beer. There is no need. The beer is cheap down there and it is not worth the potential hassle if you were to get pulled over with beer at the border. Just head into town and you will be surrounded by CORONA signs where you can actually stop in and get cases of beer. They will even provide the ice. Be careful, the ice is nasty water..... However, it does the job of keeping the beers cold. You can find these small liquor stores scattered throughout Rocky Point. Be sure to bargain with them, none of those prices are final. You will rarely find anything other than Corona, Dos Equis, and Tecate at these stores.
The main beer you will find in Rocky Point is Dos Equis, Tecate, and Corona. You will still find Bud Light, Budweiser, Miller, Coors Light and many other domestics beers. However, they tend to be slightly more expensive when you are down there. When you are out at the bars, the specials will always be on the local beers. Don't expect to have $1 domestics in Rocky Point.... Unless those are $1 Corona, Tecate, or Dos Equis.
For those looking for domestics or liquor, you have the option of several Circle K's in the area which will have this alcohol. Super Ley's, a local supermarket, also has a great selection of alcohol.
So what about you Tequila drinkers? There is actually the Tequila House located just past Calle 13 on Benito Juarez. If you are a Tequila connoseur, you will definitely enjoy this store. This store will have enough Tequila selections for any Tequila lover.
