MEXICAN INSURANCE! As mentioned all over this site, you have to get Mexican Insurance before you cross into Mexico. It is a must do, and the fees work on a sliding scale according to the kind of car you're driving and how long you plan to stay. There are many places to take care of this before you hit the border.
