Development Showered with Further Honors at Gala Ceremony in San Diego.

The glittering illuminati of the property world converged in San Diego on Thursday, November 12 for the 2009 Americas Property Awards. From Argentina and Brazil to the United States and Canada; from South America to Central America and the Caribbean to North America, leading property professionals gathered for the results of the world’s most prestigious awards. Tessoro at Las Conchas was honored to be invited and, although hopeful, could not have imagined what was in store.

We are proud to share that Tessoro was named the Best Development in Mexico and the Best Interior Design for Mexico in 2009 and given Best Development and Design Honors for the Americas.

Tessoro was one of only 4 Best Development honorees in all of North America. Its interior design was given 5 stars and rated top-five in the entire Americas region. The Awards results and elite company of the winners made clear just how special the judges found Tessoro to be. Tessoro is the first and only International Property Awards winner in the history of Sonora. This award is not only a great honor for Tessoro, but a tremendous recognition of how far Puerto Peñasco has come as a destination. That the Best Development winner for all of Mexico comes from this emerging beach community speaks volumes – Rocky Point has truly arrived on the international scene.

Developments from around the world were judged by a panel of 52 distinguished property professionals whose collective knowledge of the industry is unsurpassed. This year’s judges included Helen Shield, editor-in-chief of International Homes magazine, Ben Wood, head of property markets for Google UK; Peter Bolton King, group chief executive of the National Federation of Property Professionals; Imtiaz Farookhi, chief executive of the National House Building Council; Christopher Hall, president elect of FIABCI; Wilhelm Harnish, Master Builders of Australia (MBA); Thijs Stoffer, International Consortium of Real Estate Agents Association (ICREA); and Gillian Farr, head of design of Laura Ashley Home.
