We were thinking about cinco de mayo in 2008 is there any americans down in RP for that weekend. Just don't want it to be dead. Has anyone been there on weekends past that could let me know. Thanks.

Thank you but I want to know how busy it is in RP on the weekend (THAT WE AMERICANS CELEBRATE) of Cinco De Mayo. It is the only weekend that month we can go. Just don't want it to be dead. Does anyone else have have a helpful coment on the amount of people in RP that weekend.

This event is taught to very young school children in Mexico but is not a celebrated holiday.
Actually on that date some 200+ villagers with pitch forks defeated maybe 14 French soldiers in an out of the way town back when Mexico was a part of the French Empire of the 1800's.
The weekend is no different than any other here.
